I am always happy to write a review after my stay at Horse Thief Ranch. This time it was a quiet weekend with no other guests which was perfect for me and my dogs. The casitas are all immaculately kept, cozy and comforting. The hosts are generous with their effort to connect, extremely pet-friendly. The location is great - you feel isolated from everything except nature, but are only a 5 minute drive from anything you need and 20-30 min from all the activity of downtown Tucson. This place would especially be ideal for a family (if the space is available) as well as for either a personal or romantic getaway.

This is a lovely little gem on the outskirts of Tucson. I stayed here while we were shopping at the big Gem Show. Easy drive to restaurants and just 25 minutes to down town, but because of the peaceful neighborhood, well worth that drive. There's a hiking trailhead at the end of the street that when I stay next time, I will leave time to take advantage of. Highly recommend.

Outstanding hosts. Mel and Bernd were friendly and very accommodating. And the location and casita were perfect. We loved the desert surroundings and the use of their pool. If and when we return, this would be our choice for lodging!

I have stayed here before and would stay here again. Location works really well for me. The last bit of the drive is unpaved but was fine for my rental Kia Soul. Gorgeous views, beautiful and comfortable indoors, kitchen is well set up and very clean.

Casita del Sol was a perfect little spot for our trip. Our plans included Sabino Canyon and Mt. Lemmon. The studio had everything we needed and more! It was a great place to come back to after a day of hiking. Very quiet and peaceful but also not too far from town for a quick store run or a restaurant. We brought a few items to eat and heat in the microwave. The space is a studio so the space is more compact yet has everything you may need. The coffee and waters were a very nice welcome! We also appreciated the pet accommodations. Our little Shiba felt right at home and enjoyed the outdoor space. There was also a dog park 10 minutes away that we got to enjoy. Would definitely stay again as we didn’t get to do all the exploring we were hoping to do. Thank you for the great stay!

Loved the lighted sidewalk to the back of the house. We needed it at night and it helped us identify the house. Very quiet location. Super clean. Beautiful shower with two height shower heads.

Flexible checkin time was very appreciated. Russell and Sofia were always kind and responsive when we communicated. I loved the private courtyard and especially loved the gate! There are custom built-ins in the closets making longer stays easy to organize. Receiving packages was very easy, and all pictures were accurate. Super comfy beds and couch too. I felt safe the entire time as well. Next time I’m in Tucson, I won’t hesitate to book with these hosts or this location again!

Super sweet little place right down from our own house. We have a renovation project ongoing and needed to be close and this couldn’t have been a better location. Very nicely done renovation and very cute 1 bedroom place with all that you could need for days or weeks long stay. The location in the desert and proximity to Saguaro National Park are unprecedented. Thank you for making your special place available.
